Parent Partnership

Bambino Day Care recognises that working in partnership with parents is of major importance, in order to help provide a happy, caring and stable environment. We value the contribution parents make towards their child’s learning and aim to ensure that information regarding children can be exchanged easily and comfortably by nursery staff and parents.

In order to achieve this:
  • Each parent is given a Parents Handbook at a Parents Interview which takes place prior to admission. The handbook provides information about the nursery including the nursery policies.
  • Any special requirements, cultural and religious information, customs, language, diet, health issues, likes/ dislikes, settling in etc will be discussed and recorded at the Parental Interview.
  • Information provided by parents about their child will be kept confidential and treated on a strict need to know basis.
  • If the nursery has any concerns about a child’s well-being during the day, every effort will be made to contact the parents or their emergency contact.
  • Parents are also requested to keep the nursery informed of any changes to personal circumstances e.g. change of address, telephone number, doctor or emergency contact.
  • Parents are also requested to keep the nursery informed of any circumstances which could have an effect on a child’s emotional well-being e.g. bereavement, separation or illness in the family.
  • Parents will have access to their child’s records and are invited to attend a review meeting at least twice a year to discuss their child’s progress. Written reports are provided at these meetings.
  • A daily sheet is written each day providing parents with information about their child’s day. There is also every opportunity to talk to staff on a one to one basis each day.

Our Daily Routine

We write out a daily sheet every day for your child to keep you up to date with his/her day and reviews are every 6 months to keep you informed of the progress and development of your child.

Children who have dietary requirement needs are met and staff will be kept up to date with any changes.

Bambino Day Care has a multicultural menu that is nutritious and healthy. Juice/water and fruits are provided every day to encourage healthy eating. Breakfast, lunch, snacks and tea are provided throughout the day.

Bambino staff plans their day around each child as we know children learn through play and us as staff are also role models to children, which will allow each child to develop their full potential and will also build up each child’s self-esteem and confidence, preparing each child for when they start pre-school.

Each activity is planned very carefully and will allow staff to recognise and acknowledge what stage of development a child is at and this is done through record and observations, which will allow staff to provide p[lay opportunities for children which will help their development in all areas.

Our planning involves:
  • Music and movement – once a week
  • Second language
  • Cooking activity
  • Outings
